2014 Scholarships:

EBSCO Charleston Conference Scholarship

The EBSCO Charleston Conference Scholarship will awards up to $1,000 to a qualifying librarian or para-professional. Please join EBSCO in congratulating the winner of its 2014 Charleston Conference Scholarship – Shannon Burke, Discovery Services Librarian, Neumann Library University of Houston-Clear Lake.

Elsevier Library Connect Charleston Conference Award

In what has become an annual tradition, Elsevier is pleased to offer the Library Connect Charleston Conference Award for first-time presenters. The 2014 award provided up to US $1,500 to be used for registration costs, economy class airfare and hotel expenses to attend the 34th Annual Charleston Conference: Issues in Book and Serial Acquisition, November 5-8, 2014.

Congratulations to Lindsay King, Public Services Librarian at Yale University, as the winner of the 2014 Elsevier Library Connect Charleston Conference Award for first-time presenters.

Gale Cengage Learning Charleston Conference Scholarship

Gale, a part of Cengage Learning, is pleased to offer a $1,000 travel scholarship to attend the 2014 Charleston Conference. The scholarship will be awarded to a librarian who was or is currently working at an academic library.

2014 HARRASSOWITZ Charleston Conference Scholarship

In honor of the Thirty Fourth Annual Charleston Conference, HARRASSOWITZ is pleased to offer a $1,000 scholarship to attend the 2013 XXXIII Annual Charleston Conference.

IGI Global’s Academic Librarian Sponsorship Program

In an ongoing effort to help librarians grow professionally and increase their understanding of the changing state of knowledge resources, IGI Global will award one librarian a $500 stipend for attendance of the Charleston Conference.

Congratulations to Carolyn Schubert of James Madison University on winning the 2014 IGI Global Academic Librarian Sponsorship Program. Ms. Schubert is the Health Sciences and Nursing Librarian at JMU.

2014 SAGE Photo Contest

Photo entries will be judged on three criteria – creativity, quality, and the ability to depict the library’s tradition. Each of the twelve winning photos will be featured in the 2015 Charleston Desk Calendar, distributed free to all Charleston attendees.

Swets Charleston Conference Scholarship

The Swets Charleston Conference Scholarship will award $1,000 for a qualifying librarian or para-professional to attend the 2014 Charleston Conference.
